Who this is for

Major League Response offers a first responder discount. The message behind it is simple. We take care of the people who take care of our communities.

The honest part first. The discount amount and the full eligibility terms are still being finalized and are not published here yet, because advertising a number that is not locked down is how a discount turns into an argument later. Call and ask, and you will be told the current terms before you commit to anything. Once the terms are final they go on this page with the figure, who qualifies, what proof is needed, and the exclusions.

One term is already fixed and it is worth stating plainly, because it protects you. The discount applies to the customer-paid portion of non-insurance work. It does not reduce or offset an insurance deductible. A discount structured to absorb a deductible on an insurance-billed loss is a problem under California law for the company and for the customer both, and we will not do it. If your loss is going through a carrier, ask and we will explain exactly which portion the discount can touch.

Who this is for. Firefighters and fire department personnel, police officers, sheriff's deputies, paramedics and EMTs, and emergency dispatchers. Sylmar sits at the top of a fire corridor and this company works in the same neighborhoods these crews do, which is the reason the program exists rather than a marketing calendar.

What you get is the same work everybody else gets. Around the clock dispatch, a free initial inspection, IICRC-certified technicians, daily logged moisture readings, and a written scope before anything starts. Water extraction and structural drying, mold remediation, fire and smoke cleanup including wildfire ash in a standing home, sewage, odor, and contents.

One thing worth knowing given the schedules involved. Shift work means the person who owns the house is frequently not the person who can meet a crew, and a loss does not wait for a day off. Tell dispatch who is authorized to let us in and who should get the updates, and we will run the job around that rather than around office hours.

We dispatch from Sylmar around the clock, we work in English and Spanish, and we can bill a carrier directly for our services on an insurance loss.

Questions people ask

How much is the discount?

The amount is still being finalized and it is not published yet, because posting a number that is not locked down is how a discount becomes an argument later. Call and you will be told the current terms before you commit. Once they are final they go on this page with the figure, the eligibility, the proof required, and the exclusions.

Can the discount cover my deductible?

It cannot, and any company offering that should worry you. Under California law a discount structured to absorb an insurance deductible on a billed loss is a problem for the company and for the customer. Ours applies to the customer-paid portion of non-insurance work, and we will tell you exactly which portion that is on your job.

Who counts as a first responder?

Firefighters and fire department personnel, police officers, sheriff's deputies, paramedics and EMTs, and emergency dispatchers. The full eligibility list and the proof required get confirmed when you call, and they will be posted here once the terms are final.

I am on shift when the crew can come. Can somebody else let them in?

Yes, and it is the normal arrangement on these jobs. Tell dispatch who is authorized to provide access and who should receive updates, and the job runs around that. A loss does not wait for a day off and the schedule should not pretend otherwise.
